Okay, so we’re not exactly the ones testing out Facebook’s new-fangled messaged system, but rather the tech-heads over at BGR. Check out their quite exhaustive preview of what Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is claiming to be a ‘revolution in social messaging’ yet not quite an email-killer. So even though they’ve revamped, relaunched and re-imagined their entire ethos, observers are still calling Myspace out: PCWorld, Gawker, and even mainstream Aussie newspaper The Australian have all given the new Myspace site less than stellar chances of success.
Hit the links for what others are saying, but in our humble opinion, Myspace – as a social networking hub – has been dead a long time. Only time will tell whether it can compete in a world with likes of Spotify or Last.fm, but as an independent artist / band network, it still has a place in our hearts – and bookmarks.
