RIM announced the BlackBerry Playbook at the RIM developers conference. Similar to other iPad-alikes, the Playbook has a smaller 7 inch screen, and will support Flash, Micro-USB, Bluetooth, and full HDMI out. It is vaguely slated for release in ‘early 2011′.

Everybody’s favorite business-mobile maker appears to be holding firm in the face of burgeoning sales of Android phones and the launch of the iPhone 4. Statistics show RIM to be doing rather well, actually. Sales figures are below, we’ve got BlackBerry OS v6.0 coming soon, a new handset in the form of the BlackBerry Torch 9800, and the App World surpassing 10,000 unique apps.
